Bachelor of Landscape Architecture
The training programme offered by the department of Landscape Architecture is based on the scientific understanding of natural processes, informed by history, culture and social dynamics. It is an environment based profession. As a discipline it is broad in scope developing into the design, planning and management of landscapes and the environment.
The broad objective of the programme in Landscape Architecture is to develop a taste for beauty, admiration for the surrounding natural world, appreciation of natural environmental habitats and at the same time a rejection of selfish oriented consumption attitudes.
Admission Requirements
A candidate wishing to be admitted to the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (B.Land.Arch.) in the Department of Landscape Architecture must:
- (a) Satisfy the minimum entrance requirements of the University
- (b) Satisfy the department’s entry requirements which are:
- He/She must have passed K.C.S.E (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education) or equivalent examination, and must have subject cluster given below:

- (c) Satisfy the requirement to be a holder of a Diploma in Architecture from JKUAT or any other Senate recognised and approved Diploma in Architecture programme with at least a credit pass.
- (d) Satisfy any other qualifications recognised by the Senate as equivalent to (b) and (c) above.
