Kimani Maruge Honoured with a Google doodle

“Kimani Maruge was an extraordinary Kenyan whose passion for education throughout his life, shines as a beacon worldwide on the importance of lifelong learning,” says Google Communications Manager for East and Francophone Africa Dorothy Ooko.
Kimani Maruge holds the guineas world record as the oldest person internationally to start education at 84 year.
Though he didn't achieve his dream to complete the education he wanted he became a great inspiration to  a worldwide community and he promoted literacy through this action.
Maruge popularised Kapkenduiywo Primary School in Eldoret January 12, 2004 when he started his education.
He died in August 14 2009
